We want each visitor to Locust Grove to feel especially welcome and comfortable.
We know that people need the freedom to explore a new church without pressure, and at Locust Grove nothing will ever be done to make a visitor appear conspicuous or out-of-place.
We hope that the information below helps you know where to go and what to expect.
Finding Your Way Around During Your First Visit
Locust Grove is blessed to have both a Chapel and a larger Sanctuary in which to worship. Once you turn off County Lake Road into our parking lot, all our facilities will be in front of you. The Chapel is to the right side of the front area. Our 8:15 Worship Service is held there.
The 10:30 Worship Service is held in the Sanctuary to the left.
Several parking spaces for visitors are reserved at the front of the parking lot near the Sanctuary, Chapel, and Main Office entrances. Please feel free to use them.
If your first visit is to one of our worship services, you can head directly for the front door of the Chapel or Sanctuary. You will be greeted in the foyer and offered a bulletin describing the upcoming service. Seating is easy to find and no one ever need worry about sitting in a wrong place or entering after the beginning of the service.
There is also a covered area at the left of the Sanctuary that may be especially useful during inclement weather. When entering through these double doors, the front of the Sanctuary is to the immediate right.
If you are joining us for a Life Group at 9:15, it’s easiest to enter through the Main Office door between the Sanctuary and Chapel. At the Welcome Center, a volunteer will greet you and assist you in locating a Life Group that fits the age group and interests of every visitor.
Refreshments are available in the Fellowship Hall (located near the Main Office entrance) beginning at 9:00, so please join us for a cup of coffee and a snack and get to know more about the people at Locust Grove.
Finding A Life Group
We offer a variety of Life Groups for all ages from 9:15-10:15. Please check here for more details.
A detailed listing of classes and topics currently being offered will also be available at the Welcome Center located near the Main Office Doors. A Welcome Center volunteer will be happy to help you find the class that best meets your needs.
Our Worship Style
The preaching at Locust Grove is Christ-centered and authentic. We strive to be honest about human struggles, and joyful in our proclamation of God’s love and grace. The same sermon is delivered during our two weekly worship services.
Our musical presentation aims to engage both the heart and the mind by combining high-quality musical performances and lyrics with theological depth. In both our services, Our gifted Music Director leads talented musicians and singers in choral, group, and congregational singing. The 8:30 service in the Chapel features more traditional hymns and the 10:30 service features more contemporary songs and a Praise Team. The music in both services emphasizes variety, and tends to include both songs that are lively and up-tempo and some that are solemn and reflective. We believe you will be blessed and inspired to worship God by the musical presentation.
What To Wear
A broad range of clothing can be found among our attendees, from jeans and more casual clothes to suits. No one should feel uncomfortable attending worship because of the clothing in which they are comfortable worshiping.
Within our bulletin there is a tear-off card that can be filled out with contact information and dropped into the offering plate. We want to reach out to visitors, but only on the terms with which you are comfortable, and this card lets us know if you’d like follow-up contact from us.
We sincerely hope that you will join us this Sunday at Locust Grove.
