What To Expect

On Your First Visit

Visiting Locust Grove

We want each visitor to Locust Grove to feel especially welcome and comfortable.

We know that people need the freedom to explore a new church without pressure, and at Locust Grove nothing will ever be done to make a visitor appear conspicuous or out-of-place.

We hope that the information in these links will help you know where to go and what to expect, and sincerely hope that you will join us this Sunday at Locust Grove.

Finding Your Way Around During Your First Visit

Our world has changed drastically due to health concerns with COVID-19 so as a result, many things have changed about the way we worship at Locust Grove. For the past seven months, Locust Grove has rotated between virtual worship, social-distanced indoor worship, and outdoor worship services. Our plan is to move back into the sanctuary on Sunday, October 4th to resume indoor worship.

We will still be social distancing and everyone is asked to wear a mask. We will continue to live stream the worship services on our Facebook Page and Youtube channel (https://bit.ly/LGBCYouTube). If you prefer to worship from home, please join us at that time, so that we can all be praying and worshiping together at the same time.

Our Worship Service will be held on Sundays at 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary. Once you turn off County Lake Road into our parking lot, all our facilities will be in front of you. The Rock Chapel is to the right side of the front area and the Sanctuary is to the left.

Several parking spaces for visitors are reserved at the front of the parking lot near the Sanctuary, Chapel, and Main Office entrances. Please feel free to use them.

If your first visit is to our worship service, you can head directly for the front door of the Sanctuary. You will be greeted in the foyer but all of our greeters will be wearing masks. We are asking everyone to wear face masks. If you do not have one, we will be happy to provide one. Seating is easy to find but every other pew will be taped off to ensure adequate spacing between seats.

There is a covered area at the left of the Sanctuary that may be especially useful during inclement weather. When entering through these double doors, the front of the Sanctuary is to the immediate right.

A nursery will be provided for infants-age 3 but our Children’s Church is still temporarily suspended. Please don’t worry about your children being a distraction. We love children and want them to feel welcome in our services.

Finding A Life Group

We normally encourage everyone to join us for a Life Group at 9:15. Our Life Groups are currently meeting online but if you are interested in participating in one, please let us know and we will assist you in finding a Life Group that fits the age group and interests of everyone in your family.

Our Worship Style

The preaching at Locust Grove is Christ-centered and authentic. We strive to be honest about human struggles, and joyful in our proclamation of God’s love and grace.
Our musical presentation aims to engage both the heart and the mind by combining high-quality musical performances and lyrics with theological depth. We are currently suspending congregational singing and our worship choir but music will still be provided by our Praise Team. Our worship service is a blended service featuring contemporary songs and traditional hymns. The music emphasizes variety, and tends to include both songs that are lively and up-tempo and some that are solemn and reflective. We believe you will be blessed and inspired to worship God by the musical presentation.

What To Wear

A broad range of clothing can be found among our attendees, from jeans and more casual clothes to suits. No one should feel uncomfortable attending worship because of the clothing in which they are comfortable worshiping.

Following Up

We’d like to know you were here and how you found us. Please take a moment to fill out our online visitor form and tell us more about you and your family.
We want to reach out to visitors, but only on the terms with which you are comfortable, and this card lets us know if you’d like a follow-up contact from us. This can be done by phone or email but if you’d like a personal contact, we’d be happy to set up an online meeting with a staff member.
